Green House Privacy Notice

Green House is a think tank founded in 2011. We aim to lead the development of green thinking in the UK. We collect personal data from our members, supporters, volunteers and other stakeholders in the legitimate interests of supporting our work. We will also ask for consent for data processing where appropriate.
How we collect data
Green House collects personal data through:
  • Event booking forms
  • Event sign-up sheets
  • The ‘sign-up’ box on our website.
 We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held in accordance with EU General Data Protection Regulation and UK Data Protection legislation.
 
Why we collect data
We collect this data to enable us to send newsletters and information about our events to supporters and others interested in our work.
 
Processing and consent
When you sign up to our newsletter on our website the data we collect are your email address, the IP address, and timestamp. This data is securely transferred to our account with MailChimp and held by them.  When you give us your email address at an event that email address is entered in our account with Mailchimp.  Mailchimp is based in the USA and its servers may be outside the EU.  Mailchimp complies with EU General Data Protection Regulations and UK Data Protection legislation. 
Data in paper form is held securely and destroyed securely.

Your rights over your data

You have the right to view your personal data held by us. Should you wish to make a subject access request to view your personal data held by us, please email Green House: info@greenhousethinktank.org
Should you wish to withdraw permission for use of your data or to update the data we hold for you, please email Green House: info@greenhousethinktank.org

Social media

In some cases, where a page on our website includes content from a social network, such as a Twitter feed, or Facebook comments box, those services may set a cookie even where you do not click a button. As is the case for all cookies, we cannot access those set by social networks. Social networks cannot access cookies we set ourselves.

Log files

Our systems automatically gather some anonymous information about visitors, including IP addresses, browser type, language, and the times and dates of webpage visits. The data collected does not include personally identifiable information. It is used, as described above, for statistical analysis, to understand user behaviour, and to administer the site.

Our website contains links to websites operated by third parties under different privacy policies.  Should you choose one of those links, you will be leaving Green House’s site and this privacy notice will no longer apply.
